In 2023/24 we have established a cohort of leaders from Year 6, who could support and lead the delivery of active sessions each lunchtime. This is an extension of the curriculum aims of developing the knowledge, skills and capabilities needed for mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing in all children both for now and into the future. The leadership role has two purposes:

1. To help encourage as many children as possible to participate in and enjoy sporting/ physical activity, regardless of talent or experience, in both competitive and non-competitive situations.

2. To develop leadership skills in the leaders themselves, allowing a strong pupil voice across the school, showing different kinds of role models (peer to peer) to pupils, teaching the skills required to be an effective leader.
