School Librarians
Our librarians have a very special role in school in sharing their love of reading throughout the classes! They are responsible for keeping library areas looking spick and span - but alongside this they are cultivating a love of reading with younger pupils too!
Our librarians have reading buddies so they listen to younger children reading. They also spend time in the reading hut at lunchtimes, reading stories to younger children. Newly launched this year, we have our class reading journal sketchbook which our librarians have prepared. The idea is that these sketch books are passed to different children in each class in order to share children's favourite book recommendations with their peers.
During whole school events such as bedtime stories and campfire stories, our librarians are responsible for selecting books to read and preparing resources for the evening events. They are also working hard on a top-secret author visit planned for World Book day... watch this space!
