Our Pupil Parliament

At the start of this year, we held a very special whole school assembly to announce our new leaders in school for this academic year. During the appointment process, staff received an incredible 450+ pupil applications for 9 different leadership groups/roles within our school. We were blown away not only the quality, but the variety of application: letters, posters, speeches, small group interviews, annotated drawings and PowerPoints! To see such a wealth of children actively  wanting to promote our school mission of ‘HANDS – to make a difference!’ - was incredible!

In total 256 leadership roles were announced, with each pupil coming to the front, receiving a leadership badge and being acknowledged and congratulated by the entire school. (No pupil was allowed more than 3 leadership roles to allow for whole school equality, inclusion and so as not to overwhelm any one pupil with too much responsibility!)

Within each leadership group a ‘Minister’ was announced who would represent that group in our brand new Pupil Parliament. Please congratulate not only our 256 appointments, but our new ministers of school:

Minister of Equality – Mia Y5 (Diversity Defender) Minister of Worship – Connie Y6 (Pupil Chaplin)
Minister for Sport – Freddie Y6 (Sports Leader)Minister of E-Safety – Mattie Y5 (Digital Leader)
Minister for the Environment – Charlie Y6 (Green Team)  Minister of Reading – Shauna Y6 (Librarian)
Minister of Culture – Flynn Y6 (Language Ambassador)Minister of Wellbeing – Mia Y6 (Mental Health Champion)

Each class also has voted for its newly elected ‘Members of Parliament’ to be their voice within the parliament. Congratulations to our;

Y3 Ministers: Finlay, Sam and Harry

Y4 Ministers: Poppy, Jacob and Millie

Y5 Ministers: Edward, Eleanor and Lilly

Y6 Ministers: Elektra, Oliver and Suzy

We know you will all work hard to help all pupils and staff ‘make a difference’ to our school, local community and the world.
