Pupil Chaplains
Aim: to nurture, support and develop a child’s natural spiritual curiosity. Although rooted in the Christian faith, Pupil Chaplains can come from any faith tradition or none. Our aim is to be fully inclusive, challenging, holistic (heart, mind and head) and totally fun.
What would Pupil chaplains do?
- Attend weekly lunchtime meetings, facilitated by the Vicar and church volunteer, to explore the Christian faith, prayer and spirituality more broadly, through teaching, music, craft, games, prayer spaces etc.
- Actively seek to live-out the school values in their school life.
- Become a good listener and to support students who ask for help, to encourage students to speak to an adult who can more fully support their emotional health and well-being. To take on pastoral roles such as ‘Playground buddies.’
- To get involved in serving their community and causes near to their hearts.
- To help plan and lead Church assemblies or prayer spaces once a term. Possibly to help plan and lead a service at St Peter’s Church.
