Mental Health Week

February 2021 marks Place2Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week. For the past couple of years, we have really enjoyed inviting parents and carers into school to share some activities with their children, including mindfulness and reflexology.  Of course, this year is different, but now, more than ever, talking about children’s mental health and emotional wellbeing is so important and we want to ensure that we still engage in some really great and meaningful activities throughout next week.

Therefore, there will be a number of videos and learning opportunities for both the children at home and those in attendance at school.  We will start the week with an assembly focusing on this year’s theme ‘Express Yourself’; within the assembly there is a short task so having a square piece of paper handy would be great!

There is a planned lesson, which can be done as one whole or split into two shorter sessions (an activity for both), all the resources (PowerPoint, worksheets) are available to print off and use.

In addition, there will be other short videos (10-15 minutes in length) that focus on specific aspects of mental health, including breathing, reflexology and mindfulness.
